Crossdressers like myself might relate to my crossdresser waterfall metaphor. Thinking back to my crossdressing adventures in San Francisco years ago which started with Duke checking into the hotel. To those not in the know it was probably bizarre because he never left the room. Duke went through the crossdresser waterfall when entering the hotel elevator and emerging later is Micki for the next couple of days. In those days it was 24 hour a day crossdressing with jeans and flats during the day for shopping. Nights were dresses and heels for elegant restaurant dining.
Unfortunately San Francisco looks nothing like it did pre COVID and does not offer the adventures we once enjoyed. I have moved on to other cities and taken my crossdresser waterfall with me and sometimes use it daily. Shopping opportunities have diminished post COVID with so much being bought online brick and mortar stores are hard to find. Nowadays I don’t rush to get ready and go out during the day unless there are good shopping opportunities. Many days Duke goes back and forth through the crossdressing waterfall morning and night. The days starts with Duke having lunch and a walk or some gift shopping for the wife WINK, WINK then back through the crossdresser fall to start the nightly Micki Magic.
The only reliable destination that still has great shopping is The Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. Even then there are times I shop as Duke like when it is very hot or fashion trends are not trending my way. Day one I can shop for jewelry and makeup as Duke with no problems. I even have the MAC Artists test foundations on Dukes face in the store. Shopping for dresses, shoes, pants, jackets or tops I also do as Duke which is quicker because I skip whole sections of the store. If the hunting is promising I return on day two as Micki and try things on in the dressing room.
The crossdresser waterfall gets a lot of use nowadays and while I miss the San Francisco style of shopping I have adjusted. Sometimes my daytime is just lunch then getting ready which I very much enjoy that experience also as I described in my previous post. It makes no difference if I have 3 or 7 hours to get ready I will use all of it!
MY CROSSDRESSER WATERFALL
I chose the term waterfall instead of curtain because people typically expect something to be behind a curtain. Sometimes there is a cave or something behind a waterfall but you need to go through the water to see it. Because my crossdressing is an on or off, all or nothing proposition the crossdressing waterfall fits me. I step through the waterfall and the water goes right back in place once I am on the other side. Its Micki time from then on until I come back though that water curtain again. Duke lives on that side of the crossdresser waterfall and Micki does not exist there.
The crossdresser waterfall only applies to the physical manifestation of Micki Finn but she lives in my head always. I plan my adventures usually months ahead of time and shopping daily right up until just days before I leave. Not necessarily buying but always looking for things that will enhance my presentation.
